FAQ:

Where are you located?
You may find me at Dwelling Tattoo at 1770 W Berteau Ave Suite 409.

What kind of tattoo proposals do you accept?
Presently, I am accepting forms for custom tattoos.
During periods where I am accepting custom work, I look for proposals that are most suited for my tattooing style. This would include nostalgia, still life objects (think about your prized possessions, foods/meals/drinks, antiques etc), single element botanicals (which means I will not do arrangement or bouquet style designs), fantasy objects, fabrics/textiles with movement. If you have been paying attention to the themes represented in my flash lately, you probably have a good idea of what I typically enjoy working with. If you are looking for a botanical tattoo, please specific which species. Asking vaguely for “something floral” is an automatic no from me, sorry!

How can I book an appointment?
I release flash in batches to my website portfolio. If you can still see the design, there is a good chance this design is still available. To claim the design, click the “Book Flash” link in the left sidebar! You will also see a “book custom” link in the sidebar when custom proposals are being accepted.

How do I pay you?
I accept cash or card payments. You will pay for your tattoo at the conclusion of your appointment. All tattoos require a non-refundable deposit. The details of a potential deposit will be discussed with you at the time of booking.

What is your rate?
Currently I charge around $200 an hour per tattoo, depending on size and placement. Also I’d like to note that I no longer accept or anticipate tipping for normal appointments, so I will quote you a total possible price upon booking. In the case I am holding a flash event or fundraiser, gratuity is appreciated. I do consider myself to be budget friendly, so please never hesitate to let me know what your expected price range is so we can work together to make our session most affordable to you.

Please note:

  • All clients must be 18 years of age or older before receiving a tattoo. Be prepared to bring proof of ID to your appointment.

  • Try not to be late, but try not to be too early either. It is possible I am with another client either before or after our scheduled appointment, so to avoid holding anyone up, please do arrive at our agreed upon start time.

  • DUE TO THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS I require all clients to attend their appointment wearing a mask that covers the mouth and nose. All clients must come alone to reduce the amount of foot traffic seen in the studio.

  • If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have potentially been exposed to the virus, please reschedule with me immediately. It is imperative to be honest.

  • For best results, please ensure the area you are having tattooed is thoroughly moisturized. I recommend applying lotion to your skin twice a day at least 2-3 days before your tattoo appointment. Dry skin is difficult to tattoo!

  • Do not come to your appointment on an empty stomach! It is important for your health to have a decent meal before receiving a tattoo - it keeps you from feeling faint or uncomfortable. (Drink water too!)

  • It is strongly recommended not to drink alcohol heavily the night before a tattoo session. Alcohol thins the blood and puts you at risk of losing a portion of the tattoo ink.

  • With the same principle, I suggest staying away from blood thinning pain relievers before, during, and immediately after receiving a tattoo. If you need to take something, take Tylenol, but otherwise try to find other ways to reduce the post-tattoo burn!

  • Overall (unless your doctor specifically approves, though this is rare) do not get tattooed while taking antibiotics.

  • Do you have a fear of needles? Talk to me about it! We can find ways to help ease your mind during the process. Your comfort is my priority, so if you have fears or concerns about the process, please feel open to communicate this with me.

  • Generally speaking, it’s suggested to keep away from exercise/excessive sweating for 2-3 days after receiving a tattoo, especially while your Tegederm bandage is still applied.
